Christchurch, New Zealand
Introduction
This blog is being assembled in 2026 from the photos take in 2025 and the itinerary. I’m quoting from the itinerary to fill in my failing memory of exactly what happened every day.

Our bus

Enroute to Akaroa
After breakfast, travel to the south-east of Christchurch to the Banks Peninsula town of Akaroa, known for its mix of 19th-century British and French colonial history and architecture.

Akaroa’s waters are a playground for the smallest and rarest of dolphins, the Hector’s dolphins. This morning, embark on a nature cruise to view these enchanting creatures, while taking in the dramatic coastline. Enjoy lunch at your leisure (own expense), choosing from the many charming cafes and eateries dotted throughout Akaroa before heading back to your hotel.

Christchurch’s Heritage Tram
This evening, hop on board Christchurch’s Heritage Tram and enjoy a four-course dinner as you roll through the city’s historic sights. (BD)
